Rebecca Wexler

Rebecca Wexler is an assistant professor of law at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where she works on issues concerning data, technology, and criminal justice. She is also a faculty co-director of the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology, a nonresident fellow at the Brookings Institution, and an affiliated fellow at the Yale Law School Information Society Project. Wexler’s research includes “Privacy as Privilege: The Stored Communications Act and Internet Evidence,” Harvard Law Review; “Privacy Asymmetries: Access to Data in Criminal Investigations,” UCLA Law Review; and “Life, Liberty, and Trade Secrets: Intellectual Property in the Criminal Justice System,” Stanford Law Review. Prior to attending law school, she made documentary films for national broadcast television, museums, and educational distribution.
